Innocuity Testing

ACDP is NATA accredited to provide a wide range of testing to determine innocuity of materials, exclude adventitious agents and for a variety of other specialized purposes.

Innocuity testing involves a range of specific and general tests to detect or exclude for adventitious agents, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, mycoplasma and includes hemadsorbing and CPE causing agents in veterinary vaccines. Testing is generally done on seeds for veterinary vaccines, e.g. seed cell lines, seed virus or bacteria on permissive cell lines over 3-4 passages followed by immunodetection or molecular testing. The testing follows international standards such as 9CFR and European Pharmacopoeia and more recently the new Department of AgricultureF guidelines for testing imported veterinary vaccines.
